The Safety Seal is a voluntary certification issued by the DILG- Davao City Government Operations Office, Davao City Police Office (DCPO), and Davao City Fire District (DCFD) to affirm that an establishment is compliant with the minimum public health standard set by the government, and uses or integrates its contact tracing with staysafe.ph.
The said recognition emanates from the various efforts of the city government to ensure quality and safe working environments especially in this time of pandemic.
According to the head of the city’s Internal Audit Service Division (IASD) lawyer Sarah Phoebe L. Paclibar, the issuance of the Safety Seal affirms the compliance of the city with the minimum public health standard.
“This is also a testament that the City Government also seriously implements what it has been promoting since the start of the pandemic, which is wearing a face mask, observing physical distancing, and ensuring adequate ventilation, among others,” Paclibar said.
This is a very important recognition since the City Government needs to lead by example for other agencies and individuals to follow, she said.
The IASD and the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) spearheaded the application for the Safety Seal for the Davao-City Hall Building.
HRMO head Lemuel Ortonio, meanwhile said, the safety seal is more of a recognition that the City Hall as a building has complied with the standards in ensuring the safety of the employees and clients during the pandemic.
The city is also aiming that the city government’s Annex Building and the Davao City Tourism, Investment and Promotions Building be given similar recognition.
The certification is valid until six months from the date of issuance and shall be renewable subject to continuing compliance with the eligibility requirements.
