Vice President Duterte described the event as a "Free Duterte Now" rally, aimed at voicing public frustration over what she characterized as unjust legal proceedings against former President Duterte.
She added that she discussed the planned demonstration with her father, acknowledging to him that public rallies are unlikely to influence the formal judicial process.
Vice President Duterte noted that the gathering serves as an avenue for supporters to express their grievances over the former Chief Executive's ongoing incarceration.
Former President Duterte has been held at the ICC facility since his arrest in March 2025 under a warrant issued for alleged crimes against humanity connected to his administration's anti-narcotics campaign.
Vice President Duterte said reports of her father's imminent release are unfounded, adding that the ICC's schedule remains unchanged and proceedings are continuing as planned.
