The regional office of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) identified the surrenderers through their aliases as TV Nash, Ian, and Jumong.
The suspects were former officers of Weakened Guerilla Front (WGF) 33 and WGF 55 Southern Mindanao Regional Committee (SMRC). The two WGFs operating in Davao del Norte, Davao de Oro, and Davao City had already been dismantled by the military sometime this year.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Jovit Culaway, the acting Regional Chief of CIDG 11 said they surrendered following the arrest of their brother George Adolfo and sister in-law Maricel Amparo, both were members of the disbanded WGF 55 in Iloilo on September 14, 2022.
Culaway alongside other PNP units and military facilitated the surrender of the rebel returnees after a series of talks.
Record showed that the three former NPAs had warrant of arrest for homicide with P120,000 bail, issued by Presiding Judge CELESTIAL VERDE ARANDA-GONZALES, Regional Trial Court (RTC), 11th Judicial Region, Branch 57, Mabini, Davao de Oro dated August 19, 2021 and another case of Illegal Discharge of Firearms issued by Acting Presiding Judge DIVINA TABANYAG SAMSON, Municipal Trial Court (MTC), 11th Judicial Region, Maco, Davao de Oro.
Culaway encouraged other NPA members to concede and grab the opportunity to avail of the government’s enhanced-comprehensive local integration program (E-CLIP).
Culaway strongly supports the efforts of the National Task Force-Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) and to strengthen the legal offensive against the high ranking personalities of CPP-NPA-NDF.
The surrenderers are now under the custody of CIDG Davao de Oro for documentation and for custodial debriefing prior to their enrollment to E-CLIP.
