CIDG-Davao de Oro in its report identified the surrenderers through their aliases as Eric, Jobert, and alias James.
The rebel returnees are members of the dismantled Weakened Guerilla Front (WGF) 55 and later transferred to WGF 2 Southern Mindanao Regional Committee.
The surrender happened after the revelation of the three previously surrendered communist terrorist group (CTG) members with multiple warrants of arrest also to CIDG Davao de Oro last October 24.
The CIDG operatives were also able to recover several firearms and explosives from the former NPA members such as Caliber 5.56 Elisco M161A Rifle; Caliber .45 Colt MK IV 1911 Pistol; Caliber .357 Revolver; several magazines; assorted ammunition; fragmentation grenade; bandolier; and a holster.
CIDG 11 acting regional chief, Lieutenant Colonel Jovit Culaway lauded the notable accomplishment of Davao de Oro CIDG.
He also encouraged the remaining NPA members whose idealism is against the law to yield and go back to the arms of the government.
The three former NPA are now in the custody of CIDG Davao de Oro subject for custodial debriefing prior to their enrolment to the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).
