Malalag MMA fighter reaches quarterfinals of World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Trials

DAVAO CITY---A fast-rising Mixed Martial Arts fighter from Malalag, Davao del Sur brought honor to region 11 and the Philippines after he reached the quarterfinals of the tough Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Trials at Jiu-Jitsu Arena in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates on November 18.

Out of 29 competitors, Reydemtor Nacionales, a fitness coach of I Flex Fitness Philippines almost made it to the semifinals.

On September 4, the Davao del Sur fighter also won his MMA fight against an Uzbekistan fighter in the UAE Warriors 22 also on the same venue mentioned above.

Nacionales beat Abrobek Madaminbekov via submission in their fight for the bantamweight 132 pounds division.

Nacionales, a Davao Urban Fighting Championship Champ and Slugfest Champ in Koronadal City is happy with his win.

The victory s also huge for Nacionales, a member of the Pilipinas Sambo team since it moved him closer to his dream of becoming an MMA world champion.

The Davaoeno is also a gold medal winner in the Southeast Asian Sambo Wrestling Championships on April 11 to 12, 2018 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Nacionales won the 62-kilogram division of the tournament participated by some of the top Sambo practitioners in Asia. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
