City fire investigators say candle left burning unattended caused yesterday night’s (Dec 29) house fire that displaced a family of two in Zone 3, Mapagmahal Street, Ph-5, DDF Village, Brgy. Mandug, Buhangin District, this city.
According to the investigator of Buhangin Fire Brigade, the fire originated from the house of Rosalina Loreche Hicom, 79 years old due to an unattended lighted candle inside a room, burning the entire house.
The adjacent house owned by Arsenia Hebalde Jakosalem, 63 years old, was also partially damaged.
Fire investigators declared a fire out at around 11:40 p.m with no casualty reported.
The estimated cost of damages of the affected houses is yet to be determined.
