Vice President- elect Sara Duterte to hold oath taking at San Pedro Street
DAVAO CITY- Vice President elect and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte confirms she will hold her oath taking ceremony at San Pedro Street, this city and open to the public on June 19.

San Pedro Street is one of the oldest and busiest streets of Davao City located in front of City Hall. 

Duterte made the confirmation during the Special Hour with Mayor Inday Sara Duterte radio program today (May 23) live over Davao City Disaster Radio(DCDR).

“The venue for my oath taking will be at San Pedro Street and this will be open for everyone. I have to get the honor for Dabawenyos to witness the oathtaking,” Duterte said.

Duterte however said the details of the activity including the invitation for guests will come after the proclamation of the country’s President and Vice President by Congress.

The canvassing of the votes for President and Vice President is ongoing in Congress (Senate and House of Representatives).

Duterte also said while waiting for the proclamation they have already created a transition team so that after the proclamation the process of transition in the vice president’s office starts.

“Hulat hulat lang ta ( referring to the proclamation) then we will start the transition both sa office of the vice president and Department of Education and details of the oathtaking,” she said.

President elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos,Jr. already named Duterte to head DepEd once she assumes office.

“Hopefully we get that proclamation to get the ball rolling,” Duterte said.  

Duterte is majority vice president of the Philippines after raking more than 31.5 million votes based on  the official results of the canvassing by the Commission on Elections of the recently concluded May 9 synchronized elections.
