PRO 11 in a statement on Tuesday said they are committed to enhancing their personnel deployment strategy, particularly in areas of convergence such as malls, churches, transportation terminals, and various government facilities and installations.
“PRO 11 will exert all efforts to prevent any act of terrorism and will uphold public safety to the best of our ability and capacity,” the statement reads.
The public is urged to contribute to these efforts by remaining vigilant and promptly reporting any suspicious individuals or objects to the nearest police station in your area PRO 11 further states.
PRO 11 strongly condemns the heinous bombing and described it as an act of terrorism which resulted in the loss of several lives and caused injuries and trauma to many others.
“We stand in mourning with the affected families and pray for the swift recovery of those who have been wounded,” the statement further said.
Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesman Captain Hazel Tuazon, meanwhile, said that all 19 police stations, including its special support units have been directed to strengthen the Davao Defense System (DDS).
Tuazon said they are in full alert and have beefed up their DDS through checkpoints in the border control of the city.
The police, she said, are doubling their efforts in securing the city and its people.
Tuazon said the police are also in close coordination with the City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO )and Task Force Davao to ensure public safety and maintain peace and order.
The City Information Office head Harvey Lanticse also urged Dabawenyos to always practice the Culture of Security by cooperating with security checks and reporting any suspicious individuals or activities including unattended luggages within the city.
