Bansalan Police Station identified the victim as Philip “Sonny” Dizon, 64 years old, a resident of Davao City.
Driving his black Can-Am motorcycle, Dizon was travelling from Davao City heading towards Balutakay, Brgy. Managa, Bansalan, Davao del Sur when the accident occured.
The police report said, upon reaching the said place Dizon swerved to another lane as he anticipated the other approaching vehicle, and suddenly applied the brake. But unfortunately, he lost control of the vehicle.
The motorcycle, accordingly overturned and the victim was smashed into a concrete lane.
Dizon was immediately brought to Davao Del Sur Provincial Hospital in Digos City by the responding team from Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council, but he was pronounced dead due to fatal injuries in different parts of his body.
Dizon owns Crocodile Park, a coffee shop, and some other businesses in the city.
Sixty two years ago, Dizon’s father founded Dizon Farms, touted as one of the nation’s most well-known food brands.
