Speaking at Davao Peace and Security Press Corps media briefing Wednesday (Oct. 9) at The Royal Mandaya Hotel, Enumerables who is also the spokesman of Comelec 11 said that in Davao City, five have filed for the first congressional district including incumbent Congressman Paolo Duterte and PBA partylist representative lawyer Margarita “Migs” Nograles.
In the second district, three candidates will run for congressman to include Barangay Captain Omar Duterte and city councilor Augusto Javier “Javi” Campos.
Meanwhile, four candidates also submit their candidacy for the congressional seat in the district to include incumbent Representative Isidro Ungab.
The Comelec also recorded a total of 74 candidates for city councilors in three districts.
For Davao City mayoral race, six have filed their COCs and these are former Presdent Rodrigo Duterte, former Civil Service Commission chairperson lawyer Karlo Nograles, Bishop Rod Cubos, Roweno Caballes, Joselito Tan, and Jonathan Julaine.
Under the vice mayoral position, four also filed their candidacy to include incumbent mayor Sebastian Duterte and First District city councilor Bernard Al-ag.
However, according to Enumerables, the list of candidates is not yet final because they need to submit this to their higher office.
“This is only based on the report given to us by the election officer but this is not yet final as we are going to submitn this at our central office,” Enumerables said.
Out of 1,437 candidates in Region 11, 39 filed for congressman, 9 governors, 10 vice governors, 110 vice mayors, 111 provincial board, 123 mayors, and 1,035 aspirants for city councilors and Sanggunian Panlungsod/Bayan.
