DAVAO CITY---After a shocking silver medal finish in basketball in the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam, PBA star Kiefer Ravena has decided to retire from playing in the SEA Games for the Philippines.
Ravena, 28, worn the Gilas jersey in the SEA Games six times, starting in 2011 at 18 years old when the Philippines won the gold in Jakarta, Indonesia.
“Hanging these bad boys up for my last SEA Games,” Ravena posted on Instagram.
“Been my absolute pleasure playing for the Philippines,” Ravena said.
Before being part of Gilas in the SEA Games, the 6-foot guard plays for NLEX in the PBA and Shiga in the B.League.
In the 2021 SEA Games, Ravena normed 6.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.4 steals per game.
Despite their sad loss to Indonesia, Ravena still congratulated their opponent for their gold medal win.
“Well-deserved dub for Indonesia,” he said. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
