DAVAO CITY---The nearby city of Digos, Davao del Sur will host the highly anticipated rematch between Filipino boxers Rene Mark Cuarto and Pedro Taduran for the IBF strawweight title on January 29.
According to reports, Cuarto will defend his title against former champion Taduran in the world boxing title rematch.
Cuarto earlier captured the title by beating Taduran via a unanimous decision last February 27 in General Santos City.
The 25-year-old Cuarto (19-2-2, 11KOs) was the underdog in their first bout against Taduran (14-3-1, 11KOs).
However, Cuarto surprised Taduran and ended up as the victor in their bout.
Both Cuarto and Taduran promised their fans a great fight worthy of their money in their rematch. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
