Suarez, a native of San Isidro, Davao del Norte will face Tomjune Mangubat for the vacant WBA Asia super-featherweight crown in a boxing match co-promoted by VSP Promotions and Ultimate Knockout Challenge.
Mangubat dubbed as War Dog is a resident of Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, and holds a record of 16 wins two defeats, and one draw.
On December 4, Suarez remained undefeated after nine professional boxing fights by disposing of the former undefeated boxer Delmar Pellio from Metro Manila at the Elorde Sports Center in Sucat, Paranaque.
Suarez beat Pellio via a unanimous decision 99-89, 99-89, 100-88 in the Super Featherweight division.
On September 4, Suarez remained undefeated after the 8th professional boxing fight after he beat with a fourth-round knockout Lorence Rosas of Puerto Princesa, Palawan at Urdaneta City, Pangasinan.
Suarez sent Rosas to the canvas with a body shot to the liver to retain his spotless record in a boxing match dubbed Quest for Glory.
Coming into the fight, Suarez is very confident of his chances against Rosas since he won his seventh professional boxing match after defeating dangerous Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental boxer Eduardo “Nightmare” Mancito on July 3 at the same venue.
Suarez eked out a 10-round unanimous decision against Mancito in their super featherweight bout.
After his defeat, Mancino’s record dropped to 18-11-2 (Win-Loss-Draw).
