CSWDO Social Welfare Assistant Rosevic Joey Jayme, in an interview with the City Information Office (CIO) said that the target beneficiaries of PMOS are persons who are seeking, interested, or curious about going abroad and their families
"They will be oriented unsa diay ang life nga mag abroad and also para matabangan nga ma prepare ang family kung mag abroad ang mama or kung mag abroad ang papa, what they will do,” Jayme said.
"Ang sulod sa atoang pre-migration orientation seminar is kadtong mga advocacies nato [against illegal] recruitment and trafficking-in-person (TIP), kadtong financial literacy, and on how they would manage their family relationships nga maka cope sila sa ilahang separation due to kanang mag abroad ang ilahang parent [or family member,” she said.
She said that the idea of PMOS came up because the pre-employment orientation for the OFWs or the pre-departure orientation of the OFWs does not cover family members of the OFWs.
Jayme said that they target to conduct training of trainors in the second and third quarter of this year, with participants coming from the service providers of CSWDO and the Public Employment Services Office (PESO), OWWA Family Circles Organization, volunteers from barangays with community migrant workers associations, and other existing organized groups.
"So sila ang atoang target nga i-train para sila ang mahimong extension arm sa community sa pag conduct ani nga training,” Jayme said.
She said that the PMOS is a program in partnership with the Department of Migrant Workers (formerly POEA), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, PESO, and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) with programs for migrant workers and families. CIO
