Poplar Homes, a US-based property management company chooses Davao City as its official home base in the Philippines after its founders were impressed with the Davao Team.

Founded in March 2014 by Greg Toschi, Chuck Hattemer, and Rico Mok, in Santa Clara California, Poplar Homes built its team through a remote workforce in 2015 with employees based in India, Manila, Cebu, and Davao.

Poplar Homes data showed that since its inception in 2014, it raised $70 million in funding from Silicon Valley and global investors and recently $53 million for a Series B round. Poplar Homes has branches in California, Washington, Colorado, Nevada, Texas, Missouri, and North Carolina.

Poplar Homes head of communications, Adi Quisido said Poplar Homes continues to expand throughout the United States and Asia.

Currently, it has more than 15,000 renters from 15 states, 7,700 plus homeowners, 15,000 plus doors under management, and $336 million annual rent payouts and more than 500employees globally.

Poplar Homes' Philippine office officially launched in the city in June 2016 Teams based in Davao are Operations, Market Dev't, Engineering, Marketing and Communications.

Poplar Homes PH has324 employees in Davao and across the country, and is still actively hiring.

Poplar Homes is building partnerships with its customers by providing full service real estate experience from renting to buying and more.

It was originally named Onerent by its founders purposely to reform the fragmented rental industry. Creating Onerent, they provided leasing services meant to help college students secure a rental home. Soon after, they shifted their focus to become a full-stack property management business.

In 2021, the company changed its name to Poplar Homes. “We changed our name to reflect our vision to be the lifetime partner of homeowners and residents throughout their real estate journey. What started as an off-campus housing platform has turned into one of the fastest-growing property management firms, “ Poplar Homes in a statement said.
