Alleged NPA rebel dies in Agusan Sur clash
DAVAO CITY- A suspected member of the New People’s Army was killed following an encounter with Philippine Army’s 67th Infantry Battalion (IB) at Sitio Latay, Barangay Marfil, Rosario, Agusan Del Sur on Saturday evening (Nov. 18).

Major Mark Anthony Tito, spokesman of Philippine Army’s 10th Infantry Battalion in his report identified the slain NPA member who carries aliases as Jerby and Janjalani of the NPA’s Regional Sentro De Grabibad of the North Eastern Mindanao Regional Commitee (RSDG, NEMRC). 

The 67th IB  were also  seized  an R4 Carbine, cellular phone, and a backpack with personal belongings from the slain NPA member.

Tito said the 67th IB has already coordinated with the Local Government Unit of Rosario to inform the family about the remains of alias Jerby.

Brigadier General Allan D Hambala, 10th ID Commander extended his sincerest condolences to the bereaved family of alias Jerby. Hambala also called on the remaining members of the communist terrorist group (CTG) in Agusan Del Sur to peacefully surrender.

"It is truly tragic to witness our fellow Filipino people deceived by the CTG, lured into participating in a senseless revolution. 

Hambala further said “It is disheartening, especially considering that many of their surrendered comrades now recognize that true development and social justice can only be attained through peace.”
