The discussion is part of BOC Commissioner Yogi Filemon Ruiz’s directive in carrying out BOC's mandate on trade facilitation in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos’ eight-point socioeconomic agenda, particularly in promoting investments, improving infrastructure, and encouraging innovation.
In a statement, BOC-Davao District Collector lawyer Erastus Sandino B. Austria said in their meeting last November 4, they talked about the plan to transform the Port of Davao as an alternative center for trade in the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) due to its strategic location in Asia.
NEDA 11 Regional Director Maria Lourdes D. Lim said she supports the plan and their agency shares the same vision.
Meanwhile, the BOC-Davao also took part in the final consultation on the draft Davao Regional Development Plan (DRDP) 2023-2028. T
The consultation aims to ensure the alignment of the DRDP's development thrusts and priorities in the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028 and evaluate the responsiveness and consistency of the DRDP with the development initiatives of local government units in the Davao Region for the said plan period.
BOC Davao is confident that the dialogue between the two offices marks an even more strengthened economic growth in Mindanao in collaboration with other organizations to boost the agency's primary mission.
