In an interview with Madayaw Davao on Thursday, Business Bureau Officer-In-Charge Maribel Paguican said that for the past 12 days of operation of the BPOSS or the Business One Stop Shop, 29,148 taxpayers were able to print their renewal forms.
The Business Bureau expects about 49,000 taxpayers to renew their permits, including those whose permits were in process last year and were not issued due to the holidays.
Paguican stressed the importance of renewing early.
"We are encouraging na as early mag cope na sila sa ilahang mga payables because if tanan ang mentalidad didto na sa last days mag settle and then daghan ang dagsa sa tao maglisud napud ta. So kadtong naa na'y capacity naa na'y budget to pay settle na as early para dili ta magtapok sa atong venue, " Paguican said.
She said taxpayers from the First district may go to the Sangguniang Panlungsod building; Talomo District taxpayers may go to Almendras Gym; Calinan District taxpayers may go to the Calinan Gym; Buhangin District taxpayers may go to Gaisano CityGate Mall; Toril, Tugbok, Baguio, and Marilog taxpayers to their respective district treasury offices.
"Walay requirement sa renewal, just bring your permit because we will encode your Business ID. Kung wala'y problema sa record they can easily proceed sa issuance sa ilang application. But in the event nga naa sila'y deficiencies, violation with other offices, they need to settle first. But we will not hinder ang ilang pagbayad, they can pay for [the business permit] but later nalang pud nila i-settle ang deficiencies because ang atong naay deadline is ang pagbayad. Ang pag settle we give them time pero dili pud niya dugay dugayan kay by April mag ocular napud ta and there is one hundred peso penalty per day for those who have no permit," Paguican said.
Meanwhile, Paguican said that they make sure to give ample time to taxpayers to pay and they have extended the opening hours on January 31.
The Business Bureau will be open until 10 pm at SP building and Almendras; City Gate (Buhangin) will be open until 8 pm; Calinan, Toril, and Tugbok will be open until 7 pm; and Paquibato, Baguio, and Marilog will be open until 5 pm.
