Information Officer, Jail Officer 3 Joefrie Anglo said that priority will be given to immediate family members, and visitors must adhere to the established guidelines, including visiting hours, and must bring an identification card to facilitate matters.
“It will not be a lonely Christmas after all for the more than 2,000 PDLs across the Southwestern Tagalog Region as a simple party had been set on Christmas to make them feel the holiday cheer even behind bars,” Anglo said.
He said, “the Christmas event has been a tradition at the jail, offering a glimmer of hope and a sense of normalcy for families during the holiday season. It underscores the BJMP’s broader mission of fostering positive change in the lives of the PDLs it serves and the communities they will eventually rejoin.”
Additionally, he announced that online meetings are available via BJMP’s e-Dalaw program, offering a chance for families unable to attend in person, to connect with their loved ones.
The initiative allows PDLs to maintain healthy relationships with their families through communication, which contributes to their mental well-being, the statement added.
