Ocampo who led the turn over during Monday’s Flag Raising Ceremony at Quezon Park, San Pedro Street said the mountain bikes were distributed to eligible city hall employees and qualified Davaoeńos.
Ocampo thanked Ayala Foundation, Makati Business Club, and Grab for donating the bicycles, which he said were of great help to the recipients as this would be their means of transportation and livelihood.
Apart from the bikes, the beneficiaries also received helmets and Go bags containing emergency kits.
Each bike is worth P15,000.
“I-maintain lang unta nila ang Bike nga gihatag sa Ayala Foundation ug Grab pinaagi sa atong opisina arun mapahimuslan nila sa dugay nga panahon sa ilang pagpanarbaho ug negosyo,” Ocampo said as he appeals to the beneficiaries.
The following are the recipients of the wheels for work program:
1. Elmer Mallorca, 49 years old, a member of the Civil Security Guards assigned at the City Mayor’s Office;
2. Jessica Ambacan, 29, an admin liason of the City Treasurer’s Office;
3. Giovanni Paciño, a payroll clerk for 19 years of the City Environment and Natural Resources Office. He takes three jeepney rides going to CENRO office.
4. Genevieve Rodriguez, a single mother of two, and on-call cook, helper, and dishwasher;
5. Rodel Armodia, a balut vendor who works hard for his five children;
6. Arjay Pascual, a working student and breadwinner for his six siblings;
7. Christine Joy Panday, a fish vendor;
8. Romie Villabert, 56 years old and has been a painter and carpenter for 20 years;
9. Jetrew Angcay, a utility staff of the City Treasurer’s Office; and
10. Garry Patotoy, a balut vendor for nine years and served as barangay tanod in Barangay 24-C.
