TATAG IP Students Foundation Incorporated, meanwhile, also received P30,000 from the officials of Davao Del Norte Government and Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative (DAGOEMC) during the series of gift-giving and handover ceremonies held in Talaingod, Davao del Norte on Friday (December 23).
Lieutenant Colonel Osmalik D Tayaban, 56th Infantry Battalion Commanding Officer, facilitated the Gift-giving Activity as they handed toys and food packs to the pupils of Naseco Integrated Elementary School.
10th ID in its report Saturday said the funds used came from the proceeds of the Headquarters Service Company's (HSC) Mobile Christmas carolling conducted to the different stakeholders of 10th ID.
TATAG IP Students Foundation Incorporated is composed of former IP Bakwits from United Church of Christ of the Philippines (UCCP) Haran who had been exploited by the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG).
Tayaban said the funds donated to the foundation shall be used for the ongoing construction of the TATAG IP Students Boy's Dormitory.
10th ID Commander Major General Nolasco A Mempin lauded the generosity of DAGOEMC and the initiative of 56IB and HSC as both activities directly contributed to the overall welfare of the IP students, especially those formerly exploited by the CTG.
"We believe that in sustaining just and lasting peace, your soldiers must genuinely care for everybody not only this Christmas season, but in our everyday life,"Mempin said.
