DAVAO CITY- Sasa Chief of Police Major Alberto Abella was sacked after three detainees escaped from the Sasa custodial facility on June 16.

Speaking at the AFP-PNP press corps briefing at the Royal Mandaya Hotel, Wednesday (June 22), Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesman Major Ma. Teresita Gaspan said Abella  was relieved from his post so as not to affect the ongoing investigation.

Also relieved from his post was Master Sgt. Roger Babao, the station’s on-duty jailer.

She said the two police officers could be charged with administrative liability if they are found to have committed some lapses.

“They were already relieved as action taken by DCPO. He is now assigned at DCPO admin as well as the jailer to determine culpability and command responsibility,” Gaspan said.

Gaspan identified the three detainees who escaped from the detention facility as Allan Tilmaria Suluan,27, fisherman; Aljun Norbia Lulang, 19,and Agdokahal Montasi, 18. They are all residents of Isla Verde, Barangay 21-C, Boulevard this city.

The suspects were accused of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
