Rape has the highest incidence among eight-focused crimes in Davao City
DAVAO CITY (PIA)- Rape cases have the highest number of incidents among the eight focused crimes in Davao City this year.

Major Catherine Dela Rey, spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) bared during AFP-PNP Press Corps briefing at The Royal Mandaya Hotel that incestuous rape incidents comprise the highest in the crime against chastity.

She said that this is alarming since people would not want a spike to victims of rape.

Dela Rey revealed that now is the time for all the mothers not just to  leave their children, especially the female, to any male companion.

“We are not certain, even fathers can rape their children.  Incestuous rape has the highest percentage,” she said.

Dela Rey said incestuous rape happens within the confines of a home, far from the police.

She disclosed that the only remedy that  victim could do is to report any attempt or consummation of rape, so that we can protect the victim while alarming her fate to companions at home.

Dela Rey bared that the basic good and bad touch is being taught in schools.

“The child is innocent and she does not know how to differentiate the bad touch from the good touch,” she said.

Dela  Rey said that if their private parts are touched by any male companion, it is best to report immediately to their teachers or friends or someone who has their confidence.

She stressed it is high time to be receptive to children.

Dela Rey said it is also taught to children that only their mothers can touch their private parts and daddies are not included.

“If someone attempts to touch your private parts, tell it right away to the mother, even if the one who attempts to touch you is female,” she said.

Dela Rey said one of the causes of this psychotic behavior is the access to social media.

“Sexual acts are  accessible through the social media and exposure to pornographic materials is inevitable,” she said.

Dela  Rey pointed out the five-minute rule; by way of missing a female child for five-minutes is already a cause for alarm.  (PIA XI-Joey Sem G. Dalumpines)
