The Philippine National Police (PNP) has filed criminal charges against the father of the student involved in the shooting incident at Ateneo de Zamboanga University (AdZU).
The father is facing a case of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide following the investigation into how his son gained access to his firearms.
The PNP said evidence points to alleged negligence on the part of the father after his son was able to obtain both his government-issued and privately owned firearms.
A security personnel of the school was also investigated and charged over alleged negligence that reportedly allowed the firearm to be brought inside the campus.
The charges stem from the shooting incident at AdZU, which resulted in the death of a student.
