P100-M ELCAC projects kick off in North Cotabato villages
DAVAO CITY- The Local government unit of President Roxas in Cotabato Province formally starts the implementation of P100 million million worth of road concreting projects, infrastructures, and livelihood programs during the ground breaking ceremony held at Barangay Labu-o in said municipality.

The projects which will benefit 25 barangays in President Roxas are in line with the DILG and Task Force ELCAC's Barangay Development Program (BDP) aimed at addressing the development concerns of communities particularly of those once considered as Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) affected barangays. 

These barangays were once affected by the CTG and were declared as cleared after the military's implementation of community based Community Support Program in the said barangays. 

Philippine Army’s 39th Infantry commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Ezra Balagtey said that the ground-breaking ceremony also highlighted the efforts and commitment of various agencies in addressing the issues that were once used by the CTG's as propaganda against the government. 

Nine People Organizations (POs), meanwhile, composing  of former members of the underground mass organizations of CTGs in said barangays received a total of P 2.7 million from the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Sustainable Livelihood Assistance Program on December 7, 2022 as a starter kit in their livelihood program.

Balagtey during the activity emphasizes the effort of different government agencies to converge their different programs to address the issues and concerns of the communities. 

"The activity is a proof that indeed we have a caring government, we are unifying our effort to address the issues and concerns of our communities" Balagtey said. 

Balagtey vows to continue to keep in step with other agencies in preserving the stability and ensuring the continuous development of people and communities in said area.
