DAVAO CITY- A child died when a fire broke in a residential area at Purok 5, Barangay 23-C Isla Verde, Davao City at around 11:55 p.m, Tuesday (July 4).
Mary Aly Rose Ilagan, 6, and her father, Journey Dave Ilagan were rushed to Southern Philippines Medical Center after suffering third degree burns on their bodies.
However, at past 7 a.m, Mary Aly was declared dead by her attending physician while her father is still undergoing medical treatment.
Davao City Police Office reported the fire started at the house of the victims and immediately scattered towards the nearby Puroks.
The incident displaced about 50 households with an estimated damaged cost of P500,000.
Fire investigators said the fire, which started at around 11:55 p.m was contained at around 2:42 a.m, Wednesday (July 5).
In the meantime, investigations continue to determine the cause of the fire.
