Ex-NPA rebel nabbed for violation of firearms ammunition law
DAVAO CITY- A former member of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) was apprehended for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensives Firearms and Ammunitions law when a joint team of policemen served a search warrant Tuesday (Jan. 31).

Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Davao del Norte field unit head Lieutenant Colonel Milgrace Driz said the subject of the search warrant for the possession of illegal items was Armando Villarin Ancajas. He was arrested at his residence at Purok 1C, Brgy. New Malitbog, Panabo City, Davao Del Norte.

Ancajas was reportedly a former member of SPARU Unit of the NPA’s Pulang Bagani Command-1, operating within Davao Region, part of Bukidnon Province and Agusan Provinces. 

Investigation also revealed that Ancajas is a member of the Baguio Criminal Gang engaged in Gun-For-Hire operating within Davao Region.

The search warrant was jointly served by the police, military, and maritime unit.

The operatives seized 49 bullets of various firearms, steel magazine, 100 rounds of empty shells for caliber .45. ammunition box, and sling bag.

The arrested suspect is now detained at Panabo Police station.
