DepEd Davao City, police tighten school security after Zamboanga shooting
DAVAO CITY — The Department of Education (DepEd) Davao City is working with the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) and the city government to strengthen security measures in schools following the recent shooting incident in Zamboanga City.

DepEd Davao City Schools Division Superintendent Reynante Solitario met with DCPO City Director Police Colonel Peter Madria, City Information Officer Harvey Lanticse, Public Safety and Security Office Head Retired Police Colonel Angel Sumagaysay,. and other safety officials on Tuesday, August 18, to discuss measures aimed at preventing similar incidents in local schools.

Among the measures being strengthened are security checks at school entrances, anti-threat awareness campaigns and coordination with local authorities for faster emergency response.

The meeting was also held in line with the city government's directive to enhance security and ensure the safety of students, teachers and other school personnel.

DepEd Davao City said it will continue working with law enforcement and local government agencies to maintain a safe and secure learning environment for learners across the city. Demographics
