CDRRMO head Alfredo Baloran said during the I-Speak media forum at the City Hall Conference Room on Thursday (July 21) that through said activity they can assess those creeks that frequently overflow during heavy rainfall affecting communities and determine the status of the city’s landslide-prone areas.
Baloran said that the activity will just be a re-assessment since his office had already done a similar assessment in previous years.
"We already had a coordination meeting with the other offices: City Engineer's Office, City Planning and Development Office, City Environment and Natural Resources Office, Ancillary Services Unit, City Social Welfare and Development Office and City Health Office for a one-time big-time assessment," Baloran said.
The target areas for Walk the Creek are La Verna Creek, Panacan, Tibungco Creek, and Acliban Creek in Barangay Sto. Nino, and Puan Creek.
For the Walk the Slope, CDRRMO alongside with other city offices will visit a portion of Maa beside Shrine Hills, Juario Village, at the back of Memorial, portions of Tigatto, Purok Tinago Barangay Matina Pangi, and areas in the old Smokey Mountain.
The CDRRMO will then submit recommendations to the respective concerned offices after the inspection.
