DAVAO CITY — Four individuals were arrested after authorities dismantled an alleged drug den during a buy-bust operation in Barangay 33-D, Davao City on Friday night, August 21.

The operation was carried out at around 8:20 p.m. along Artiaga Street, Purok 3, by the Regional Special Enforcement Team of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 11 (PDEA-11), in coordination with the National Bureau of Investigation Southeastern Mindanao Regional Office and the City Mobile Force Company.

Authorities identified the alleged drug den maintainer as alias “Eric,” 60, who was arrested after reportedly selling a sachet of suspected shabu worth P1,000 to an undercover PDEA agent.

Also taken into custody were alias “Marvin,” allegedly employed at the drug den, and two visitors identified as alias “Rodrigo” and alias “Wencesito.”

Operatives recovered nine sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 20 grams in total, with an estimated street value of P136,000. Drug paraphernalia and the marked money used in the operation were also seized.

PDEA-11 Regional Director Atty. Benjamin G. Gaspi praised the operating teams and partner agencies for their coordinated effort, saying the agency remains committed to shutting down drug dens and curbing the distribution of illegal drugs.

The four suspects are set to face charges for alleged violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as amended.
