PMNVT's dream of medal finish in 31st SEA Games now in jeopardy
DAVAO CITY---The dream of the Philippine Men’s National Volleyball Team to repeat its silver performance in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games or even win the coveted gold in the ongoing 31st SEA is now in jeopardy.

This scenario developed after the PMNVT suffered a heartbreaking four-set loss to Cambodia 21-25, 26-24, 28-30, 27-29, Saturday at Đại Yên Arena in Quảng Ninh, Vietnam.

The loss is huge since it compels the team to win its next match against Thailand on Monday if they hope to advance further in the medal round of the competition.

The loss is also a surprise since the team demolished Cambodia in 2019 in straight sets, 29-27, 25-17, and 25-17.

In their meeting this year, PMNVT was surprised when the Cambodian squad became a much more formidable opponent than in 2019.

Aside from the best plays from Cambodia, PMNVT also made too many errors that led to their defeat. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
