DAVAO CITY---A promising male chess player who traces his roots here has won the elimination round of the 1st Stage National Youth and Schools Chess Championships on February 13.
Andrei Ainsley Dolorosa won the boys 13 and under the category of the tournament participated in by some of the top young chessers in the country.
Dolorosa scored 27.5 to win the tournament.
In a Facebook post, Dolorosa is happy and proud of his win.
"This is for you Lord. Salamat kaau! Ad majorem dei gloriam," Dolorosa said.
Before his victory, Dolorosa also made the semifinals for the 2021 Southeast Asian Games chess team selection tournament on June 26-27, 2021.
