DAVAO CITY---Davaoeno National Master Lyndon Sombilon won the tough FM Dharim Bacus Invitational blitz chess tournament at the Jardin del Roca in Baracanatan, Toril, Davao City, on February 25.
Sombilon scored five points after six rounds to win the title against some of the top chess players in Mindanao.
The Davaoenos won cash and a trophy as prizes.
The second place went to another Davaoeo, Fide Master Austin Jacob Literatus, who also won cash and a trophy.
The third place went to National Master Elwin Retanal.
The fourth place went to veteran chess organizer Alfred Moulic.
The competition was organized by NM James Infiesto w/ Jojo Palero as arbiter. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
