DAVAO CITY---A highly respected Filipino boxing analyst believes the eight-division boxing world record of retired Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacman Pacquiao will stay for a long time.
Ed Tolentino said while many boxers will attempt to break the record of Pacquiao it would be hard for them to surpass it.
Tolentino said current pound-for-pound king Saul Canelo Alvarez might try to capture his fifth weight class at cruiserweight, he will have a hard time getting more titles in higher weight classes.
He explained that, unlike Alvarez who is moving in higher weight classes, Pacquiao started in lower weight classes until he captured his record-setting eight-division championship crowns.
At the moment, Pacquiao has officially retired from professional boxing and is running for president of the Philippines in the May 9, 2022, national elections. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
