A 10-year medal drought ended by PH men's 4x400m relay
At the Morodok Techo National Stadium, the men's 4x400-meter relay team successfully concluded their 32nd Southeast Asian Games campaign by winning the gold medal in a photo finish.

Umajesty Williams, Michael Del Prado, Frederick Ramirez, and Joyme Sequita beat Thailand by just 0.01 of a second with a time of 3 minutes and 7.22 seconds.

The triumph stopped the nation's 10-year winless streak in the competition; Isidro Del Prado Jr., Edgardo Alejan, Julius Nierras, and Christian Bagsit won the 2013 edition in Myanmar.

The final runner, Williams, summoned enough strength and speed to win after the Filipinos first gained the lead but slowed down in the middle of the race.

In contrast to their previous performance in Hanoi, Vietnam, last year, where they won five gold medals, seven silver medals, and fourteen bronze medals, the Philippine athletics team will return home with four gold, ten silver, and eight bronze medals.

The other three gold medals were won by EJ Obiena, Janry Ubas, and Eric Cray in the hurdles and long jump, respectively.(Romeo Braceros Jr.)
