DAVAO CITY---Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire remains in a celebratory mood despite suffering a second-round technical knockout defeat against undefeated Japanese boxer Naoya Inoue on Tuesday evening at Saitama’s Super Arena in Japan.

In a video message, Donaire said in life, regardless you win or lose, you still need to celebrate life itself.

"I and my team are celebrating my defeat, but it's okay because it's part of life," Donaire said.

Donaire said Inoue punches very well, and he deserved to win their bout.

"I got me good, I wish him all the best in his boxing career," Donaire added.

He said the referee also did the right thing when he decided to stop the fight in the second round.

"The referee did the right thing by stopping the fight because I would have continued to fight if he had not stopped it," he said.

Despite his brutal beating, Donaire did not show any hint that he would be hanging his gloves anytime soon.

Moreover, Donaire thanked all his fans for the support, and he hoped they enjoy the fight.

With his convincing win, pound-for-pound superstar Inoue moves to 23-0 (20 KOs) and adds the WBC bantamweight title to his WBA and IBF crowns. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
