US Ambassador to the Philippines Lee Lipton expressed optimism about Davao City’s potential for cooperation with the United States, citing the hospitality of its residents as one of the city’s notable strengths.
In a statement posted by the US Embassy, Lipton shared his positive impression of Davao and praised the people for making visitors feel welcome.
“WOW DAVAO! If you have not experienced Dabawenyo hospitality, let me tell you, it is REMARKABLE. With people like this, it is easy to see nothing but POTENTIAL for what we can achieve together,” the ambassador said.
Lipton visited Davao City on Thursday, October 22, and met with Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte at City Hall for a courtesy call.
His message underscored the potential for future collaboration between the United States and Davao City, with the city’s people seen as an important part of that opportunity.
