Task Group Masara was activated on February 7 to assist the Municipal Local Government Unit of Maco and Provincial LGU of Davao de Oro for its Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) and SRR operations following the landslide on the night of February 6 in Zone 1, Barangay Masara which left 90 persons dead.
Meanwhile, the Eastern Mindanao Command (EastMinCom) extends its extreme gratitude to the provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (DRRMC) and Maco LGU for providing control to the critical situation during the onslaught of the landslide.
The significant factors in SRR decisions of those who led and controlled actions on the ground, ensured that all efforts are made to save lives and protect responders from too many risks.
"I thank the DRRMC leaders for taking care of the personnel and all those who helped alleviate the pains and sufferings of the victims of the calamities,” he said.
