The book titled "Unravelling the Fogs of War”, is the first book created under the 10th Infantry (Agila) Division since its inception in August 2006.
10th ID spokesman Major Mark Anthony Tito in a report said the book penned by Lieutenant Colonel Michael T Aquino, the commander of 25th IB and Marlon C. Magtira contains 103 sections and 10 chapters, including the Introduction, Lessons Learned, and Way Ahead.
It has a total of 124,000 words and a foreword from Vice-President Sara Z. Duterte.
"This book is the result of the painstaking efforts of our combined skills and passion for documenting what is beautiful and worth sharing for this generation and the many generations to come. All of us will go, but this book will stay," Magtira said.
Aquino in his speech said that the story of the 25th IB is worth telling, and the book is part of the unit's 50th "Golden" Anniversary.
"If there's one thing we want to convey in writing this book, it's the idea of creating a culture for the next generation, a generation that will embrace a culture of peace," Aquino said.
Davao De Oro Governor Dorothy Montejo-Gonzaga, meanwhile, expressed her admiration for the men and women of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
She said the province achieved an insurgency-free status because of the strong collaboration and support of all public and private stakeholders to the soldiers, specifically the 10th Infantry Division and the 25th IB.
Brigadier General Allan D Hambala, 10th ID Commander congratulated the 25th IB for the successful launch of its first-ever book.
"Their triumph stands as a testament to the power of military and civilian stakeholders' partnership, highlighting the effectiveness of collaborative action in combating insurgency," Hambala further said.
