The annual Pasidungog awards recognize partners from the private sector and civil society whose contributions have supported the city’s growth in areas such as business development, infrastructure, social services, public safety, environmental management, tourism, and community development.
The recognition underscores the vital role of collaboration between the public and private sectors in sustaining progress and improving the quality of life of Dabawenyos.
Vice Mayor Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II attended the ceremony on behalf of Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte, who sent a message congratulating the awardees for their contributions to the city’s continued development.
The vice mayor praised the honorees for embodying the spirit of the Everyday Dabawenyo—steadfast, dedicated, and resilient—through their efforts in supporting initiatives that promote economic growth, social services, and community engagement.
“Today, we gather to recognize not only exemplary organizations and companies that have made invaluable contributions to our city’s growth, but also the individuals who have embodied the true meaning of an Everyday Dabawenyo,” vice mayor said.
The city government highlighted the awardees’ role in strengthening programs related to urban infrastructure, cooperative development, education, traffic management, public safety, health services, environmental protection, sports development, and tourism promotion.
In his message, Mayor Duterte also emphasized that partnerships between government and stakeholders remain key to sustaining the city’s momentum as it pursues its vision of becoming a globally livable city and a center of excellence in governance and investment.
“By bringing the public and private sectors together, we continue to strengthen our linkages, improve services for our communities, attract more investors, and create job opportunities that benefit the holistic development and well-being of Dabawenyos,” the mayor said in his message.
The Pasidungog awards form part of the city’s celebration of its 89th Araw ng Dabaw, honoring individuals and institutions whose commitment and service continue to contribute to the growth and progress of the city.
