NFEM commander Commodore Ireneo D. Battung, alongside his selected staff officers, led the conduct of “CMO from the Sea,” a strategic initiative designed to deliver essential government services to geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas. The activity was carried out in collaboration with the Civil Military Operations Unit–Eastern Mindanao, the Provincial Government of Dinagat Islands, the Local Government Unit of Loreto, Davao Advent Mission, Camp Panacan Hospital and other stakeholders.
The activity provided free medical and dental services to local residents, addressing immediate healthcare needs while promoting overall community health and well-being.
Community relations activities were also conducted, highlighting the distribution of food packs and gift-giving initiatives to identified beneficiaries. These efforts reflect the Philippine Navy’s enduring commitment not only to maritime defense, but also to humanitarian assistance and active community engagement.
A total of 1,804 residents from the locality benefited from the activity, underscoring the continued dedication of NFEM and its partner stakeholders in delivering government services closer to the people, particularly in remote island communities.
The conduct of the Civil-Military Operations from the Sea (CMOFTS) demonstrates the Philippine Navy’s sustained efforts to strengthen civil military relations while maintaining a responsive and mission oriented presence within its area of operations.
