For the LGBT Volleyball tournament, Barangay Dumoy emerged as the champ, dominating the fight with outstanding teamwork and skill held in Barangay 22-C’s court. Barangay 76-A Bucana secured first place, Barangay 8-A in second place, and Barangay 22-C in third place.

In the Basketball match, Barangay 76-A Bucana clinched the championship title, showcasing dominance at Davao City Recreation Center (Almendras Gym). Barangay 31-D followed closely as the first place, with Barangay 2-A finishing in 2nd place and Barangay 15-B taking 3rd place.

The champion bagged P100,000, while the first place took home P50,000, P25,000 for second place, and P15,000 for third place in the inter-barangay basketball and volleyball tournaments. The rest of the team from each barangay received a P5,000 consolation prize.
Rep. Duterte congratulated the winners and all participants of the Duterte 2025 Inter Barangay LGBT Volleyball and Basketball Tournament. He said the inter-barangay tournament highlighted athletic excellence and emphasized the inclusivity and empowerment of the LGBT community.
He emphasized that sports are crucial in promoting a healthy lifestyle among the people, especially the youth, and steering them away from illegal drugs.
The tournament, which started last month, marks the inaugural comprehensive sports event of the First Congressional District, engaging all 54 barangays and including participants from the two other districts of Davao City.
Rep. Duterte’s sons, Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II and Omar Vincent Duterte, chief of the Barangay Buhangin Proper, attended the championship on Saturday, December 21, to express their support for the inter-barangay LGBT volleyball and basketball tournament.
Excitedly, Rigo congratulated all the teams and their players who participated in the game. He said the tournament, highlighting the active participation of the LGBT, aims to promote sports development and foster inclusivity, unity, and community engagement across diverse sectors.
“This activity would serve as a platform of inclusivity, unity, and sportsmanship, bringing together athletes from diverse backgrounds to compete in sports, collaborate, and celebrate the power of community,” Rigo said.
Omar congratulated the participating barangays and said the participants and spectators celebrated the event as a milestone in fostering camaraderie and breaking barriers through sports. He urged everyone, especially the youth, to participate in sports besides their studies.
