Personnel of the Sasa Police Station (PS4) located the two minors, both residents of Barangay Ilang, at around 9:30 a.m. on November 2, following follow-up operations prompted by the incident.
The video, posted by a concerned citizen on the Facebook page Davao Idiot Drivers 2.0, showed the boys clinging to the back of the moving truck along a public road on October 30.
Police brought the minors and their respective parents to the station for initial counseling before facilitating their turnover to the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) for appropriate intervention and protective assistance.
DCPO Director Police Colonel Peter Bauzon Madria commended the responding personnel and reminded parents and guardians to closely supervise their children to prevent them from engaging in dangerous activities.
Madria stressed that parental responsibility goes beyond providing for children's needs, emphasizing the importance of proper guidance, discipline and constant supervision to ensure their safety.
