Davao Oriental receives National Immunization Award
MATI, Davao Oriental -- Through tireless efforts and unwavering dedication to the health and well-being of the community, the Province of Davao Oriental has recently been recognized as one of the nation's top-performing provincial local government units in the government's immunization efforts.

The Department of Health's Ligtas Lakas National Immunization Award was presented to Provincial Health Officer II Dr. Reden Bersaldo during the Ligtas Lakas awarding ceremonies held in Panglao, Bohol.

Davao Oriental is among the 15 provinces, Highly-Urbanized Areas, Independent, Component Cities (PHI) that achieved at least 95% coverage in the Measles, Rubella, and bivalent Oral Polio Vaccine Supplemental Immunization Activity "MR bOPV SIA" Campaign.

Dr. Bersaldo expressed his gratitude to the partners from the LGUs and the Barangay Health Workers for their tireless efforts in ensuring the health of the communities, particularly the children.

Governor Niño Sotero L. Uy, Jr. also extended his gratitude to the health workers, as healthcare is a priority of his administration. He said this award is a testament to the province’s commitment to ensuring the health of every member of the community, particularly the children. “Their success is an inspiration to all of us to strive for excellence in everything we do and to never give up on our goals, no matter how challenging they may seem,” he said.
