"Unta kadtong sa mga barangay roads na naay mga gagmay drainage system sila nalang unta ang manglimpyo, total kinahanglan nila na, i-maintain nalang man nila tung nahinluan namo," Bermejo said in a report from the City Information Office.
He added that the team from their office prioritized the declogging of canals during the dry season, taking advantage of the weather.
"Hopefully, kung mag overflow man ang tubig dili sya magdugay maabsorb lang siya sa atong drainage system nga ato naman nang gipanghinluan. Dapat maghimo nalang pud og counterpart ang mga constituents nato labi na sa barangay level mga barangay officials," he said.
Bermejo said that in coordination with the City Engineer's Office, they were able to clear canals in Tigatto and Jade Valley, which are common impact areas for floods.
