Davao City Police Office (DCPO) reported that the victims Takie Sanico, 13, a resident of Dingan, Buhangin this city, Jerick Redulla, 12, of Sto. Ñino Hillside, Tigatto, and Kian Bituin, 12 years old and a resident of Km. 8 Diversion Road, DIHO Cabantian suddenly disappeared after they all went for a swim at Liloan Riverside, Purok Sunflower, Mandug.
Fortunately, a companion of the casualties had survived the accident.
Investigation revealed that the four students have agreed to skip from their afternoon classes to go swimming instead.
Witnesses said that three of them died after they were swept by the strong current of the water.
Brgy. Mandug 911 Search and Rescue Team and 911 Ambulance immediately rush to the area to conduct rescue operation.
The rescuers and medic team recovered the bodies of the victims.
