The activity marked the launch of mall-based YAKAP Clinics under the ๐—ฌ๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ž๐—ฎ๐—น๐˜‚๐˜€๐˜‚๐—ด๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—บ (๐—ฌ๐—”๐—ž๐—”๐—ฃ), aimed at making primary care services more accessible and convenient for Filipinos, particularly workers and their families. The initiative was conducted simultaneously with similar activities nationwide.

Organized in partnership with Healthway Multi-Specialty Center, an accredited YAKAP clinic located within the mall, the event was supported by Generika Drugstore, Globe Telecom, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) XI, Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), the Local Government Unit of Davao City and other private and public agency partners. Participants included employees, mall tenants, BPO personnel, and walk-in beneficiaries.

In a statement, Atty. Harvey L. Carcedo, Regional Vice-President of PRO XI, underscored the importance of bringing healthcare closer to the people. โ€œBy establishing mall-based YAKAP Clinics, we are transforming everyday spaces into gateways of care, bringing essential health services closer to where people live, work, and spend their timeโ€, he said.โ€

Selected beneficiaries received First Patient Encounter (FPE), empanelment, medical consultations, and medicines under the PhilHealth GAMOT program. Walk-in participants availed of membership validation and registration, eGOVph app assistance, and YAKAP clinic selection services.

The program also featured informational sessions on YAKAP and GAMOT availment processes, guiding members from registration to consultation and medicine dispensing. Interactive booths, raffle draws, giveaways, and a community Zumba session were also held.

RVP Carcedo also emphasized the broader significance of this Labory Day activity. โ€œThrough YAKAP, we stand ready to support every manggagawa and every Filipino family. Because your health is our shared priority.โ€, he remarked.

As of date, Davao Region has 185 accredited YAKAP Clinics and more than 1.12 million registered beneficiaries. Through this initiative, PhilHealth continues to expand access to healthcare services by bringing them closer to communities through accessible, everyday locations./ KLEAH GUEVARA, PRO XI
