Vice Mayor Rodrigo Duterte II, on behalf of Mayor Sebastian Duterte, members of the Davao City Council, and leaders from YHEST Realty and Development and Cebu Landmasters Inc. led the DGT Retail Pads and Pavilion opening along MacArthur Highway, as part of activities leading to the celebration of the 89th Araw ng Dabaw.
The vice mayor, who congratulated the developers and tenants of the DGT Pavilion, expressed support for initiatives that benefit the community, noting that developments such as DGT attract investment that translates into jobs for residents.
“Kami sa City Government, we support the endeavors of the DGT basta para sa kaayohan sa tanan (as long as many people would benefit from it). It means more investors, more jobs for fellow Davaoeños,” Vice Mayor Duterte said.
Mayor Duterte, in a message read by Vice Mayor Duterte, also congratulated the YHEST and Cebu Landmasters Inc., as well as the management and partners of DGT, for their role in strengthening the city’s commercial landscape.
The city mayor said the township has grown into a rapidly developing commercial district in the southern part of Davao City, offering a wide range of retail, dining, and entertainment establishments that have contributed to job generation and economic activity.
“As such, we commend the entire management and staff of the DGT, valued partners, and all key stakeholders for your valuable contribution to Davao City’s business sector by creating jobs and opening meaningful opportunities for entrepreneurs,” Mayor Duterte said.
Mayor Duterte added that the opening of the township’s Retail Pads and Pavilion highlights Davao City’s continued economic momentum and provides another venue for businesses to showcase diverse culinary experiences.
As guests explore the newly opened spaces and sample offerings from participating food establishments, city officials expressed hope that the expansion would encourage stronger collaboration among investors, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders as the city continues to grow.
“Hinaot nga kining selebrasyon mag silbing pahinumdom sa matag-usa kanato na magkahiusa ug magtinabangay alang sa mas baskog, mahimsog, ug malambuon na Dakbayan sa Dabaw sa umaabot na tuig,” Mayor Duterte said.
The newly opened Retail Pads and Pavilion introduces additional food and lifestyle options within the township under the theme “A Taste of Global Flavors.” The development features four establishments on the ground floor and 12 on the second floor, with four more spaces on the third level.
