The barangay captain, identified as alias “Kap,” 36, was apprehended after selling one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu worth P8,000 to a PDEA operative who acted as a poseur-buyer. His cohort, identified as alias “Dionisio,” was likewise arrested during the operation launched by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and police.
Seized from the suspects were an additional four heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 23 grams, with an estimated street value of P156,400, along with the marked buy-bust money used in the operation.
PDEA reported the arrested suspects are currently under the custody of PDEA Regional Office 11 and will face charges for violations of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
