Rep. Omar leads first Consultative Meeting with Barangay Captains in District 2

Davao City 2nd District Congressman Omar Duterte has officially launched the active operations of his congressional office through the first consultative meeting with Barangay Captains from the Second District of Davao City.

The meeting was aimed at listening to the concerns, plans, and needs of each barangay, and to ensure that services from the congressman’s office directly reach the people.

This meeting marks the beginning of regular monthly consultations at the district level to strengthen coordination between Cong. Omar's office and the barangay leaders of District 2.

Barangay Tibungco Captain Merjade Calvo expressed gratitude, saying:

“We are deeply thankful for this opportunity. Through these regular consultative meetings, we are able to bring forward the concerns of our constituents, and the people feel the presence of Cong. Omar’s office, ready to address their problems.”

Aside from the Barangay Captains, a representative from the PPP Partylist was also present to respond to issues, especially in barangays with fishing communities. They also pushed for programs that would support the fisheries sector and impoverished coastal communities.

From this meeting, Cong. Omar Duterte reaffirmed his commitment to a leadership that remains close to the people, listens to their situation, and works hard to solve their problems.

“We want our barangay captains and constituents to feel that we are here not just during election season, but always. Their concerns matter greatly, and we are here to listen,” said Cong. Omar Duterte.

It is hoped that these regular meetings will serve as an effective platform for more accountable public service and a stronger relationship across District 2.
